Something about ‘resistance’

‘Resist’ seems to mean something like ‘be against..’, yet, it takes on some interesting light once we consider it in a closer manner. To resist suggests the power to hold, the power to remain firm on one’s feet, the power to envelope, to go back and forth without being broken, etc. Resistance presupposes ‘being invaded’. The other comes and we can hold ourselves against them. Not only that, we are actually being held up in this ‘resisting’.  We can only resist when we are actually resisting. HOLD, HOLD on, resisting, enduring, suffering, engaging, -ing.
